Lance and Greg, both from Northern Lights Fly Tyers and Fishers club that I’m also a member of had been subjected to the reports from a number of us about the hogs of Swan Lake.  Well, they finally made it out this past weekend and they’ve put together a video over at their site, fiftynorth.ca.

Hook size: #14 – #20
Brass/Gold bead to match hook size
Body: uni-stretch (color variable)
Thorax: Peacock herl or peacock dubbing

The Brassie is an excellent, and easy to tie fly.Try different colors of wire – copper, brass, red are all effective colors

The Guadalupe Green

The Guadalupe Green looks like it would be a very effective pattern up here – I think that I’m going to tie a few of these in different colors as well.

And recently, I’ve started watching a fly tying program on one of the PBS stations I get (provided I wake up early enough).

As it turns out, the Open Media Network has download links to 50+ episodes of Fly Tying – The Angler’s Art. The downloads aren\’t the fastest, but I was able to get them all, so now I can sleep in, and not feel bad that I missed an episode :D
