Working on a map project at the office and came across the worlds largest fly rod – in Houston, British Columbia.
Looks and sounds like an interesting destination!

Have a deal put together on the Rubicon – dual tops, towing package, power group – It looks awesome. It wasn’t the first choice in color – as we ended up putting a deal together on a bright silver model. Had wanted their steel blue model originally. In hindsight, I think that the silver one is probably a better choice. The Liberty looks good, and it’s the same color.

I hear the FTR calling next year for sure!

Yes, summer holidays are done. While I didn’t get in as much fishing as I had hoped, I did manage to spend some time at the vise, and have a few dozen flies to add to the fly boxes. All I did was tie up 2 or 3 flies every day – either later in the evening, or in the morning.

I tied up some of the standard patterns that I tend to go through – T.U.s, Spratleys, and Carey’s – and I also tied up a few wooly buggers, and scuds. I also made up a couple patterns, experimenting a bit with materials and thread colors.

Hopefully some of these will see some water in the next couple of months before the hard water returns – who knows, maybe I can get out to a lake or two that I had hoped to hit during the past couple weeks. We’ll see. Who knows – maybe the trip will be in a new Jeep ;^)

We are so anxious to get the new pontoon boats wet – I set mine up in the living room just to practice the setup, and try and figure out where I want my rod holder and sonar mounted.
