First fish of the season!

fishing-april19-2009 Went out west of the city, at a small pond just south of the North Saskatchewan with Shan and Rob this afternoon. I had the first hit, 2nd cast, just after we arrived – but unfortunately lost the fish just before getting it to shore. By the end of the afternoon, I had landed 2, and lost 2. Not sure how many Rob lost, but he landed 5!

Shan ended up landing one for the afternoon – but he was testing out a new rod ;^) (That’s his story… and he’ll be sticking to it I’m sure! lol)

Was a great afternoon to get out!

Ready for fishing…

Finally got around to renewing my fishing license. Thought I had to renew my WIN card, but turns out okay until 2013!

Our pontoon boat frames haven’t got back from North Fork Outdoors yet, but going to go wet a line tomorrow afternoon for a few hours anyway.

Should be fun!

Spring finally coming?… Time for fly fishing again!

Planning has begun for our annual spring fishing trip, and this year, we’re planning on venturing out of province.

The details aren’t set in stone yet, but some of the lakes we’re looking at exploring include some lakes in the White Swan Provincial Park area.  Might take the Rubicon along, so that we can just set up camp once.  Looking forward to some spectacular scenery, along with some great fishing!

North Fork Outdoors and Dave Scadden

I’m becoming pretty disappointed at the customer service from North Fork Outdoors. The frame component with the crushed wheel mount was never replaced, and all 3 pontoon boat frames have major issues with the powder coat separating from the aluminum. Something is definitely not right.

I have contacted them – most recently via email, and the response was to phone later and talk to Dave.   Sorry, but having an email record is kind of nice from my perspective.  Waited all of last week for a response, and received none – so today I phoned them – twice, both times an answering machine.

If someone were to ask me for a product recommendation today, I certainly wouldn’t be recommending a Scadden product – purely based on customer service.  It’s too bad, as the pontoon boats are nice (despite the powder coating and shipping damage).
