vacation is over
Yes, summer holidays are done. While I didn’t get in as much fishing as I had hoped, I did manage to spend some time at the vise, and have a few dozen flies to add to the fly boxes. All I did was tie up 2 or 3 flies every day – either later in the evening, or in the morning.
I tied up some of the standard patterns that I tend to go through – T.U.s, Spratleys, and Carey’s – and I also tied up a few wooly buggers, and scuds. I also made up a couple patterns, experimenting a bit with materials and thread colors.
Hopefully some of these will see some water in the next couple of months before the hard water returns – who knows, maybe I can get out to a lake or two that I had hoped to hit during the past couple weeks. We’ll see. Who knows – maybe the trip will be in a new Jeep ;^)

Took a Wrangler Sahara Unlimited for a test drive this evening – just cruising around Millwoods. I really like this but it’s a tough decision. Been reading the reviews on the Rubicon, but I’m not sure when I would actually get the chance to flip the sway bar disconnect and start climbing over boulders.
