Can’t wait!!

Posted at 5:29 pm under fly fishing, ramblings

This is the 2006 or 2007 model

The pontoon boat has been ordered – should be getting shipped in the next day or two. There was apparently a delay in getting some parts back from powder coating.

With the forecast of some nice warm days ahead, there HAS to be some open stillwater soon! The North Saskatchewan is opening up pretty quick if that’s any indication.

Have picked up some accessories for the pontoon boat already, including a rail mount for my rod holder, and a WISE brand swivel base. Going to think about the seat pedestal as well after I try this thing out – I came across a post where another owner found that the pedestal made it much easier to stand up on the casting deck and sit back down.

I’ll be reusing much of what I used on my float tube as well, such as the rod holder, cup holder, and fish finder mount. Still need to decide on an anchor, and pick up some anchor rope as well. And I just remembered – I gotta get this seasons fishing license!

Well, there were more delays, but they are finally on their way. Apparently parts were being waited upon – might have been nice to get an email or phone call… instead I called them … again.

This time the fellow suggested that perhaps they could ship the 3 boats out that day if they could upgrade the frames. Apparently they were waiting for parts to an X5 frame – even though all their latest info on the web site states that the Skykomish Sunrise comes with an X7 frame.

Anyway, they decided to expedite the order and upgraded the 3 boats to X7 frames, and got them out the door. That’s what I wanted to hear!

Now we’ll see how UPS does ;^) Hopefully no nasty surprises!

Gonna have to trick this pontoon boat out – need an anchor, and I might also set up a front anchor rig – similar to what they have at the North Fork Outdoors store. Also have to pick up some rope, and a couple anchors… probably 10-15 pounders. Hoping that my rod holder and fish finder will set up fine on the boat – but there’s a possibility that I might look at other fish finder options – as my Fishin Buddy was getting a wee bit flakey last year.

Update: Picked up a 10lb anchor – might pick up another but I’m gonna wait and see what route I’ll go to set it up (might just order the Scadden accessory)
