and we’re off!

Well, almost ;^)

I have to work tomorrow… but hopefully I can get off a bit early so that we can get to Sulphur Lake at a somewhat reasonable time… and so I don’t keep the guys waiting too long!

Everything is packed pretty much, and I’m raring to get on the water!   Will report back how the fishing was, along with a few pix of the first big trip of the season!

Video wish list

Pacres did it again over on the flayangler forums… a link was posted (add a www to his link) for the trailer to the Trout Bum Diaries: Vol. 2

If the trailer is half as good as the full video, I’m going have to get the video now… and I don’t think that you could buy volume 2 without getting volume 1 :^)

And I’ll wait a bit before ordering, cuz I’m going fishing! See you in a week or so!

Young offenders learn to fly fish

An excellent article from the Lewiston Tribune (Idaho, USA), about a program for young offenders.  Sounds like a great program – I wonder if they do anything like that here in Canada?

An evening of fishing – Muir Lake

A freind and I are going to head out to Muir this evening with our tubes.  It’s his first trip of the season, and my first trip with the tube.  Apparently there have been some decent fish pulled out of there so far this year!  Will post a full report later tonight!

Less than one month away!

The first big fishing trip of the season approaches!

This year we’re heading up north of Peace River to Sulphur Lake for a few days, and then on the way back home, we’re going to stop at Swan Lake for the last few days of the trip.

I have a lot of flies tied from last year, but I haven’t spent too much time putting any new ones together for this trip. Going to have to try and find the time in the next couple weeks! I want to do up a few muddler minnows, some standard versions, as well as some Marabou Muddlers, and some Bow River Buggers.

Going to try some of the Wally Wing fly’s that I had tied for the swap this past winter…. I must have a dozen or so that didn’t make the grade for the swap, but I doubt the fish will be as picky as myself ;^)
